I See You She-Ra Searchers!

I’ve been noticing a jump in She-Ra related hits. I’m guessing it’s because Halloween is right around the corner. Here are the She-Ra costume related posts that I did last year. Hopefully the information isn’t outdated but remember, these posts are from last year and prices and in-stock options might have changed by now.

I hope the links and information have helped you guys out. If you do use the links why not let me know! I’d like to see if these She-Ra posts are actually helping anyone.

Halloween Weekend

I know all of you have been holding your breath to see the completed She-Ra costume. You’re wait is over. I’m sad to say though the only contest I won was the one we had at work. I’m pissed off about that. I went out Halloween Night with a friend and I entered one costume at a bar. You know who beat me? Pedro. That’s right. An idiot in a fro wig with “Vote For Pedro” on his shirt beat my super awesome costume. It all came down to who had the most friends. They had the crowd vote by cheering and I had a good amount of cheers but not enough to stick around. Even our waitress was surprised that I didn’t move on to the next round. I did have a few people (translation: nerdy guys) ask to take their picture with me. That was kinda exciting. I will tell you Halloween is the only day where you can ask random people for their pictures and it’s ok. If you did that shit on any other day of the year, you’d get a look. I entered another costume contest that was held outside but once I saw the other costumes, I backed out. You’ll see why when you check out the pictures. I had an awesome time though but if I see one more Skanky Bumble Bee costume, I’m going to cut someone.

Saturday I spent the day with my Aunt and we went to Poe Evermore. It’s at the Mount Hope Estate in PA and various actors put on different Edgar Allan Poe stories/poems. I love Poe and I thought it was pretty awesome. The actors did a wonderful job and it was nice to see the stories brought to life. They performed my favorite, “Tell Tale Heart”, and a few other poems/stories. If you ever get the chance to check it out, do it!

Sunday we went horse back riding and I fell in love with every single horse. I really fell in love with the baby’s though. Most had been born in March and they were adorable. They were fuzzy with their winter coats and just OMGZ. I really want a horse now. The ride though was fun and beautiful. It was about 2.5 hours long and I had a horse name Jade. I wish I could go riding more often and I think I will now that I’ve found this stable. You can tell the man who runs it really cares about his horses and boarders. He took us on a tour and everything. He owns 33 acres of land and I can’t even remember how many horses. Plus he’s pretty affordable. The ride was only $50! Plus the horses are so well behaved and easy to ride.

After that it was time to meet CMM and follow him to his soccer game. It was the finals and my last chance to see a game this season. Luckily I wasn’t alone. His friend who plays on the other team’s girlfriend was there. She knows as much as I do about soccer (translation: 0) so it was nice to have someone to ramble on with about other things. It was a pretty good game though that included OT and a shoot out but in the end his team lost. He handled it pretty well and didn’t throw anything or have a hissy fit. I tell you what though, I could really tell the difference with my vision while watching the game. I could read the numbers on the shirts and I could tell where he was out on the field. I didn’t just see shapes of people. I saw actual people!

I hope you enjoyed this long ass post! As you can tell, I had a pretty busy weekend.

Terror Behind The Walls

Saturday night I went to “Terror Behind The Walls” with a friend. We were both really excited about this since it’s one of the Top 10 Halloween attractions and has been on numerous shows like “Ghost Hunters” and “Fear.”

I’d say it was a good time and very well done. They put a ton of work into their attraction and you could tell the people working there really enjoyed doing what they do and scaring people. I just wish the organizers would realize what they have in the prison. You want to scare me? Give me a flash light and push me off into a dark and creepy prison. You don’t need to have people jumping out left and right to scare people. You don’t need a big production you know? You have a building that is filled with history and mystery.

Caron and I want to go back and do a day tour once Spring rolls around. You can wander around the prison on your own or do various tours. You learn more about the history of Eastern State which can be scary on its own. It’s only $12 and we have a $5 off coupon to boot.

I did manage to take a few pictures but it was hard because it was dark and I didn’t want to interupt anything.

It was a good time and I’d probably go back. I just think it’s fun to check out different places like this. I love Halloween and going to different haunted houses and attractions. I can’t wait to go back though for the day tour.

She-Ra!

I don’t think I even need to write anything but this costume is fucking awesome. It was like Christmas when I opened the box. A surprise was around every corner like the sword and the belt with the lasso. It’s so well made and I’m totally in love. Please ignore the fact I have the head peice on upside down. I was obviously too excited to notice. Of course when I rock this on Halloween I’ll be rocking a wig. Aren’t the boots kick ass?

If I don’t win a costume contest I’m beating someone’s ass.

Putting The Final Touches On She-Ra

You have the costume. You have the boots. Now all you need are the final touches.

Unless you’re already a blonde, you’re going to need a wig. What’s the point of being She-Ra if you aren’t going to sport the blonde locks? Luckily I’m here to help. The Seductress Blonde Wig is available for $15.95. The Goldilocks Wig (the one I went with) is only $10.99 while the New Glamour Costume is only $9.36. If you don’t mind spending a little more they have a Siren Blonde/Light Blonde Premium Wig for $44.99. If you think you might use the wig again this might be a good option for you.

Of course there are tons of options out there and to see more you can just click here.

Now you need a sword! The Excalibur Sword is only $5.49. This sword is running around $9.99 while the Lord of the Rings Sword is $17.99. Of course you could probably make your own with some cardboard, paint and foil.

I hope this little series of She-Ra related posts have helped you complete your look for Halloween.

October Needs To Be Longer

I love Halloween. The only problem? You have to fit all your Haunted Houses and crap into a few weekends. Do you know how hard that is when you love Halloween and want to try and visit as many amusements as you can?

I know on the 3rd I’m going to Jason’s Woods in PA. I went years ago and loved it. You pay $25 and have access to like five or six different haunted attractions like Horrifying Hayride, Barn of Terror and Macabre Museum. Plus they have other attractions you can visit like Pitch Black, Escape from Oz and Lost In Jason’s Woods. Plus they have tons of stuff going on as you wait in line like Rock Band contests and sometimes they have actors from different horror movies there too.

The other one that I need to go to is Terror Behind The Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary. I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s pretty awesome. I mean, a haunted house in a real prison? Can it get any better? Not to mention TAPS (Ghost Hunters) has been there before and that shit is actually haunted. You can view some of the haunting stuff here. Have any of you been to “Terror Behind The Walls?” If so, what did you think? Was it worth it? Any weird experiences? As of right now I’m scheduled to go on the 25th.

The on November 1st (not exactly October but oh well) my Aunt is taking me to Poe Evermore at the Mount Hope Estate in PA. I’m excited about this one because I love Poe. Actors bring his stories to life! Here is a little description:

Imagine a moonlit night, the towering pines surrounding Mount Hope Mansion cast a mysterious shadow upon the sandstone fortress. An expressionless servant invites you inside. The year is 1849. While walking one night through the dark and dreary streets of Baltimore, Mr. Edgar Allan Poe falls into a rabid coma and wakes to find himself, along with a handful of his most bizarre characters, in an Asylum in the South of France.

They actually bring to life one of my favorite Poe stories, “The Tell Tale Heart.” I could read that story over and over again. Plus they bring “The Raven” to life as well. They even have specials that include a dinner but I don’t think we’re doing that.

All this stuff to do yet I have no idea what I’m going for Halloween. I know I’m going out though because She-Ra must be seen by all!

Need Boots For She-Ra?

Many of the costumes out there for She-Ra show the model wearing white boots. Wrong. She-Ra wore gold boots. I can understand wanting white though because how often do you wear gold boots? Exactly. Here are a few links to help you complete your costume.

Ellie Shoes 3″ GoGo Boots are available in a wide range of colors including both gold and white. Those run around $27.88. If you want something a little more sexy the same brand offers 5″ Gold Sequin Boots at $44.20. LUST offers a 3 3/4 inch Gold Boot without the sequins for $44.99. They come in white as well for those out there who are looking for white boots instead of gold.

All the boots above are knee high boots and come in a wide range of sizes. Hopefully the options I’ve shared will work for some of you out there. Personally, I’m going with the Gold Sequin boots!

Where To Buy A She-Ra Costume

I’ve noticed that 50% of the searches that bring people here are related to a She-Ra costume. The other 50%? Dexter.

I thought long and hard and I’m going to provide some links to various stores that offer a She-Ra like costume. I wanted to be the one and only She-Ra out there this Halloween but that’s not going to happen it seems. Besides, mine is going to kick the ass of the store sold costume!

Super Hero Adult Costume: $69.99
She-Hero Costume: $70
Ebay: Various Prices
She Ra Costume: $71.95

Hopefully the links above help out anyone out there who’s looking to be She-Ra this Halloween. All you need to do is add some finishing touches and gold boots and your set.
