About

You've found the personal blog of a 20-something, country music listen', "Dexter" watchin', animal lovin' girl from the lovely state of Maryland. Of course there's much more to me and if you stick around you'll see.

    Check It Out

Ruh roh! 74% Sold!

I’m getting really nervous for Luna. I checked the Comic Con website and as of right now they’ve sold 74% of passes. That’s not good. Well, it is for Comic Con but not for my friend. I’m really worried that passes will sell out before she’s able to save up enough money for tickets for herself and her two kids.

I know I’ve pimped her out a ton before but I really want her to be able to go and I really want to finally be able to meet an online friend that I’ve had for a few yeas now. If you’ve been thinking about a new blog design or you have a friend who’s been thinking about it please let them know about Lunstone Designs. She’s amazing and affordable. It’s hard find those two qualities in one place. She’s always having specials on both pre-made designs and on custom jobs. Also, unlike some places, if you buy a pre-made it’s yours. She only sells them once.

Even if you’re not in need of a new design please feel free to pimp her out. I really want her to be able to go and I really want to meet her. I think it’s amazing that she wants to take her children along with her. I know I’ve been in a PITA lately about this but seriously, give her a look over! I’m sure you’ll like what you see!

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out! If you do pimp her out please let me know! I’d like to thank those in a post that do! Or if you buy something from her!

Awesome Template Sale!

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to do a blog makeover I think the time is now! My friend Luna is having a great sale over at Lunastone Designs. How awesome? Right now you can get a premade template for just $10! How amazing is that?! You have to act fast though since it’s a special for today only.

She’s added some really great templates lately including some winter and thanksgiving/fall themes plus some TV show related themes as well. If you’re a travel blogger she even added a pretty rocking travel blog theme. While searching for a look for my own blog I noticed a decent travel theme was hard to come by. If you’ve been looking be sure to snag it up before it’s gone!

Why are you still here? Get your ass over to !

New Travel Blog

I was bored the other day and the idea crossed my mind to start up a little travel blog. I do have some trips coming up and I don’t want to clog this blog with all the boring details and what not. I’ll still mention my trips here though, I just wanted a place where I could expand a little more on the travel related posts.

Here & There

Cute, right? Luna whipped the theme up for me pretty quickly. I couldn’t find a free theme that I liked enough so I’m lucky to have a friend like her who was able to help me out. There isn’t much going on over there right now but feel free to add it to your RSS readers and what not.

Save $15 On A Custom Template

Yes, I’m pimping out my friend Luna again. We’re just worried that Comic Con passes will sell out before she has the funds to buy her three passes. Why three? Because she’s an awesome mom who’s taking her kids to Comic Con! How amazing and exciting is that?

Oh, you want me to cut to the chase about saving $15? Here it comes! She’s selling custom blogger/wordpress templates on Ebay. The best part is if you buy two you get one free! I know some of you like having a different look for each season or holiday and this is the perfect chance to be able to do that without breaking the bank. You can see samples of her work on the auction page or at her design website. Plus she designed my current theme and my last theme plus a couple other designs that this blog has sported.

I thank anyone in advance who purchases a design from her. Even if you can’t I’d love it if you could help spread the word around.

Need A New Design?

My friend Luna runs LunaStone Designs and I wanted to help her get more business. She wants to go to Comic Con with me next year and could use the extra cash.

She does a wonderful job. The current theme you see was a pre-made I bought from her and the one before this with the cute little dog on the beach was one she designed just for me. She worked with me in finding something that worked for my price range and offered a few different options and versions of the design. She really does want the client to be happy and will do whatever it takes. She’s always there for a little tech support as well.

You want to talk about affordable? Right now her pre-mades are just $20! She has an adorable panda bear theme available as well as this Spooky Bride just in time for Halloween. Of course she has a ton more which you can see here. In case you’re wondering about custom designs, she very reasonable in that area too seeing how she only charges $50! Having received quotes from a few design websites, this is beyond affordable. I’ve been quoted well over $200 by various places.

The best part is you can save even more $$ if you use this special link. You’ll save $10 off a custom and $5 off a pre-made! See, it’s not always what you know but who you know!

Alright, that’s enough pimping for one day! If you’re looking for something new I hope you give her a look over!

It’s Never Too Early

I don’t care what people say, it’s never too early for Halloween! Don’t you just love the new look? It was a pre-made created by my awesome friend Luna. I think she still has a Halloween theme or two up for sale if anyone is interested. She’s the same person who created the last layout, the one with the cute dog on the beach.

Speaking of Halloween, my Abby costume is 99.9% done. The only thing left is a collar, maybe a bracelet or two and some knee high socks. I have everything else ready to go. I have the skirt, top, boots, ID badge and labcoat. I was able to score the coat for just $10 at a overstock store we have nearby. I’m going to try and do a seperate costume post soon. I just need to remember to take pictures of everything for you guys and I want to break down the price as well. I’m pretty sure it was under $75 for everything but I could be wrong. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a few chances to wear my costume too. I already have plans to go to a Halloween bull roast on October 17th that supports Susan G. Komen and since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I’m sure there will be some kickass events going on all weekend.

Is anyone else excited and ready for Halloween? Seriously, I can’t wait to start decorating the yard and buying new spooky stuff!

TaaaDaaa!

I told you something adorable was coming! Isn’t the new layout just too cute for words? I just love the little girl dog! I figure with summer around the corner it was time for a little change. It was time for something bright and cheery. The best thing of course was the fact it was affordable. My friend Luna from Lunastone Designs designed it for me. I told her I liked the basic layout of my old theme, just needed a new header and updated colors. Didn’t she do a great job? If you’re looking for a new theme and you don’t have a big budget be sure to check her out. She even has some pre-mades available.

New Blog

I started a new blog at Today.com. You can find it here. It’s going to be a blog about random stuff, nothing personal. It’ll be a mix of various reviews, local information, advice, tips and whatever else I feel like writing about.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a new blog, why not check out Today.com as a host. It’s a place where you get paid to blog. You don’t even need to write about certain topics. You can write about whatever you want and your pay is based on your traffic. I spoke to one blogger who’s made around $58 in two months. Doesn’t sound too bad.

Help Out Dawg!

I’ve been posting about helping Shelter Dogs and now it’s time to help out a NYC Dawg.

My blogger buddy, Dawg has entered the Name Your Dream Assignment contest that’s being sponsored by Lenovo and Microsoft. He has a chance to win $50,000 in order to help him complete his dream assignment. What’s his dream you may ask?

The Blogyssey Project

I want to take portraits of different bloggers, of all genres, from across the United States and Canada being who they really are.

Usually we know them as text on a screen, a cartoon avatar, or an overexposed self-portrait a la “MySpace” style. But really who ARE the bloggers we are reading?

Ideally what I would do is set-up a blog and determine bloggers who would be interested in such a portraiture project. I would then travel through the United States and Canada during July and August to take a minimum of 365 portraits of these bloggers in their “natural” environment.

After the trip and the shoot, I would do both an online display and hopefully a gallery showing as well of the faces behind the screen.

Isn’t a great idea? I think it is and 50 other people agree but he needs more votes in order to make this happen! All you need to do is register (it’s painless) and vote. It really is that simple. I know I’d love to see Bloggers in their natural habits. It’s like Dawg will be going on a Blogger Safari. How exciting does that sound? Again, if you have the time please go vote for Dawg. I know he’ll appreciate it!

1 Year!

Can you believe it? This blog has turned one! Honestly, I feel like I’ve had this blog longer but I was looking through old emails and found the “Welcome” from my host.

I find it hard to believe sometimes that I’m still blogging. I’m sure some of you feel the same way from time to time. It’s even harder to believe that people read this crap! Some of you are new and some of you have followed me from my other blogs. If you are new, how did you find me? Google? Traffic Exchange? Another blog? It’s always interesting to see how people find you.

Hopefully this blog will be around for another year. Who knows what the future holds! Perhaps a new theme is the future.
