This Is Halloween!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I ended up going to a local bar with Vicki and we had a great time just looking at all the different costumes. You won’t believe this but there was another Abby there! I was sitting at the table with Vicki and noticed another girl in a labcoat who was kinda eyeballing me a little bit and I knew right away who she was supposed to be. Later on while walking around I found her and took her picture. I must say my Abby is 100% better and I’d say by the look on her face she knew it too. I was also happy that people knew who I was. I had a few people tell me I did a really good job and that they love Abby. Granted, I didn’t care if anyone really knew (a trick or treater thought I was a rock star) since I love Abby but it’s nice when people can figure it out.

Throughout the night we saw The Geico Money, Tom Brady, Medusa, Boo Bee’s and tons of other costumes, some were pretty original which I love. Anyway, here are some pictures from the night! I hope all of you had a great and safe time. I can’t wait to see all the Halloween posts!

Finally. Abby Revealed!

Last night I went to Bull-O-Ween which is a local halloween bull roast that raised money for Susan G. Komen. It was a blast even though my one friend came down with the flu and couldn’t make it. Some of the costumes were great. Macho Man Randy Savage was there along with Bert & Ernie. There was even a giant Chicken. You could tell some people really put some time and thought into their costumes. But I’m sure that’s not why you’re here, to hear about other costumes. You’re here to see Abby. Well, here she is!

001

TaaDaa! Not too shabby eh? People even knew who I was. One guy kept saying he knew the show but couldn’t remember her name. Once I told him it dawned on him. I think I was able to pull everything together pretty well. I didn’t have the boots until yesterday but they were on sale and I know I can wear them again. Anyway, here are some more pictures from the night:

The Beer Wench and Leopard are two of my friends who were able to make it. As you can see everyone had a pretty good time! I’m already looking forward to next years bull roast!

A Busy B

October always seems to be a busy month for me. I’m sure it’s due to the fact I love Halloween and try to fit as many Halloween activities into the month that I can.

Wednesday I went to the Edgar Allan Poe viewing at the Poe House and Sunday I’m going to the funeral they are having for him. It’s the 200th anniversary of his birth incase you didn’t know. People are coming from all over the world for the Poe Bicentennial. I’ll have a seperate post after Sunday’s event with pictures and what not.

Saturday I’m going to DogFest which supports one of the local Humane Socities in the area. I’m taking the Jack Russell (Foxy) of a family friend. She’s been recently diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time and she hasn’t been able to play woth Foxy and get her out as much. I figured this was a small way of helping. I’ve heard that Foxy is very excited about her day out.

Then on October 17th I’m going to a local Halloween bull roast that supports Susan G. Komen. I’m really excited because this will be the first time I wear my Abby costume. That means after next Saturday you’ll finally get to see pictures after all the teasing and various posts. I know you guys are beyond excited. The fun doesn’t stop there though. On the 24th I’m going on a haunted pubcrawl in Annapolis with some friends from work. I’ve never done a pubcrawl before and I’m looking forward to it. I mean, booze and ghouls? It doesn’t get any better.

Then of course we have Halloween weekend and I actually have no idea what I’ll be doing. I know Vicki wants to go out and do something. We just need to find a party to go to. I know of a couple different things going on. We might just party hop from place to place.

The only non-Halloween thing I have going on this month is on October 22nd I’m going to see Brad Paisley and Dierks Bentley downtown. I’ve seen Dierks before but not Brad and I’m really excited. I’m actually going with the woman of the family including my grandmother! It’s going to be Ladies Night! In all 8 of us are going. Watch out Brad & Dierks!

Amazon Halloween Movie Sale!

Obviously it’s no secret that I love Halloween and when I saw Amazon was having a Halloween sale I just had to share this news with all of you!

They have some really good deals right now on both DVD and Blu-Ray horror/halloween related movies. The Nightmare Before Christmas [Blu-ray] + Digital Copy is 50% off while The Exorcist (The Version You’ve Never Seen) is 60% off. If you want something even more light hearted then The Nightmare Before Christmas perhaps Scooby Doo, Where Are You! – The Complete First and Second Seasons which happens to be 60% off is more up your alley (STFU, I PPH Scooby). If you want more classic horror/thriller movies The Shining (Two-Disc Special Edition) is only $10.49 and The Silence of the Lambs [Blu-ray] is $17.49.

What? You want something even a little more classic? Don’t worry, they have some “oldies but goodies” on sale as well. The Birds (Collector’s Edition), Dracula – The Legacy Collection (Dracula / Dracula (1931 Spanish Version) / Dracula’s Daughter / Son of Dracula / House of Dracula), Creature From the Black Lagoon, Tales From the Crypt / Vault of Horror (Double Feature) and a ton more older movies are all on sale.

Amazon even makes it easy for you by breaking down the different horror genres. They have zombies. They have ghosts. They have monsters and even international. Seriously, whatever you’re looking for you’ll find here.

What I’ve shared here is just a very small snippet of what you’ll find at the Amazon Halloween Sale . If you love scary movies be sure to check it out!

An Abby Tease

I thought I’d share a couple of the items I bought for my Abby costume. I finally finished buying everything I need including finding replacement shoes. Why? Well turns out Hot Topic sent me two left boots. Yes, two left boots. I called HT and they took care of everything. I’ve bought knee high socks, clip in pony tails, a NCIS badge, a Caf-Pow cup and even more but of course I can’t give everything away at once. Enjoy this little sneak peak.

I ended up with two shirts because I plan on going to a few Halloween events and wanted to change it up a bit by adding some color. The socks I picked out will add some color too. Of course I have a labcoat as well which you’ll see when I finally have everything together. This will have to hold everyone over for now!

It’s Never Too Early

I don’t care what people say, it’s never too early for Halloween! Don’t you just love the new look? It was a pre-made created by my awesome friend Luna. I think she still has a Halloween theme or two up for sale if anyone is interested. She’s the same person who created the last layout, the one with the cute dog on the beach.

Speaking of Halloween, my Abby costume is 99.9% done. The only thing left is a collar, maybe a bracelet or two and some knee high socks. I have everything else ready to go. I have the skirt, top, boots, ID badge and labcoat. I was able to score the coat for just $10 at a overstock store we have nearby. I’m going to try and do a seperate costume post soon. I just need to remember to take pictures of everything for you guys and I want to break down the price as well. I’m pretty sure it was under $75 for everything but I could be wrong. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a few chances to wear my costume too. I already have plans to go to a Halloween bull roast on October 17th that supports Susan G. Komen and since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I’m sure there will be some kickass events going on all weekend.

Is anyone else excited and ready for Halloween? Seriously, I can’t wait to start decorating the yard and buying new spooky stuff!

Becoming Abby Update

I haven’t blogged much about my Halloween 09 costume. Incase you forgot I’m going to be Abby from NCIS this year. Up until today I only had one piece of my costume and that would be this skirt:

Abby Skirt!

If you know Abby then you know this skirt just screams her name. I ordered it months ago and I’m pleased to let everyone know it did fit. You’ll have to wait for pictures though. The next important piece of the costume were shoes, or should I say boots. I thought about just wearing a plain pair of boots that I already have but then I thought na, they aren’t Abby enough. I didn’t want to spend an arm and leg though and I didn’t want to pick up a pair I wouldn’t wear again. That’s when I found these! Kick ass right? You can’t beat the price either. I’m glad I didn’t wait though because as you can see they are now sold out. I bought the last pair it seems! I just hope they fit right since I can’t return or exchange them.

Now that I have the boots and skirt out of the way the only items left are a top, lab coat and some funky socks. I’ve already started looking around on Ebay for a lab coat and I’m thinking that’s where I’ll do when it’s time to purchase one. The other two items I’ll just keep an eye out for when I’m out and about. I might even pick up an Abby ID badge off Ebay as well. I think it would be cute and would bring the costume together.

Anyone else thinking about Halloween?

I See You She-Ra Searchers!

I’ve been noticing a jump in She-Ra related hits. I’m guessing it’s because Halloween is right around the corner. Here are the She-Ra costume related posts that I did last year. Hopefully the information isn’t outdated but remember, these posts are from last year and prices and in-stock options might have changed by now.

The Costume
The Boots
Wigs & Swords

I hope the links and information have helped you guys out. If you do use the links why not let me know! I’d like to see if these She-Ra posts are actually helping anyone.

Becoming Abby

I mentioned in a previous post that this year for Halloween I’m going to be Abby from NCIS. I know that Halloween is months away but when you find something that just yells your character/costume, you have to buy it.

untitled

See what I mean? Nothing screams “Abby” more then a skirt with skulls on it. I even had a discount code! I know what you’re thinking. Did you need to buy it now? The answer is yes. I had found a skirt a few weeks ago that I thought would be great too but when I went back a few days later to show someone, it wasn’t available anymore. I was pissed. When I saw this I had to jump on it!

The next piece of the puzzle will probably be a lab coat. I might even buy a NCIS badge I found on Ebay. I think that would be a cute little extra!
